Am gestrigen Dienstag, den 4. Mai 2021 haben sich Vertreter der Liverpool FC Supporter Union, Spirit of Shankly mit dem CEO, des LFC, Billy Hogan und weiteren Vertretern der Clubführung, getroffen. Grund der Treffen waren die Pläne von FSG durch den Owner John W. Henry der European Super League bei zutreten.
Bei dem Treffen stellten die Vertreter von Spirit of Shankly folgende Anträge
- Einen dauerhaften Sitz von 2 Vertretern von SOS auf Vorstandsebene, um bei Themen und Belange der LFC – Supporter und der Anfield-Community mitzuentscheiden. Dies würde eine Neubesetzung des LFC-Vorstandes voraussetzen, die eine effektive, gewählte und rechenschaftspflichtige Fan-Vertretung beinhaltet, und nicht, dass Mitglieder des aktuellen LFC-Vorstandes diese gewählten Vertreter sind. Diese Sitze im Vorstand dürfen keine Alibi – Posten sein, sondern beinhalten volles Stimm – und Veto – Recht. Der Spirit of Shankly glaubt, dass dies wünschenswert, praktisch und sowohl kurz- als auch langfristig erreichbar ist.
- eine formale Vereinbarung zwischen dem Liverpool Football Club, der Athletic Grounds Ltd und Spirit of Shankly, um eine nachhaltige Zusammenarbeit zwischen Supportern und Club zu verbessern.
- FSG/LFC arbeitet mit Spirit of Shankly zusammen, um eine Agenda für Reformen, in Zusammenarbeit mit nationalen Supportern, voranzubringen.
- eine Zusage von FSG, dass alle Kosten, die im Zusammenhang mit der Gründung oder dem Ausstieg aus der europäischen Super League entstehen, ausschließlich von den Eigentümern und nicht vom Verein selbst getragen werden. Wir nehmen zur Kenntnis, dass die Familie Kroenke diese Zusage bereits gegenüber den Arsenal-Fans gemacht hat.
Der Club hat diese Anträge zur Kenntnis genommen und wird diese intern besprechen und Spirit of Shankly schriftlich informieren, wobei ein weiteres Treffen vor Ort in den kommenden Tagen erwartet wird.
Das Treffen verlief positiv und beide Parteien waren sich einig, dass eine neue Struktur notwendig ist, die zu einem sinnvollen und dauerhaften Engagement der Fans führt.
Die Bekanntmachung von Spirit of Shankly im Original
Today, Tuesday 4th May 2021, Spirit of Shankly met with Billy Hogan and Liverpool FC representatives.
At the meeting SOS tabled the following requests:-
– Two Spirit of Shankly representatives at board level in relation to issues that impact fans and the Anfield community .
This would involve a reconstitution of the LFC board that includes effective, elected and accountable fan representation, and not for members of the current LFC board to be that elected representative. This cannot be token representation, but one that has the ‘golden share’ or veto on the decision-making process. We believe this is desirable, practical and achievable both in the short and long-term.
– A formal recognition agreement between Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Ltd and Spirit of Shankly in order to improve collaboration and supporter engagement and involvement, and to ensure this is sustainable for the future.
– FSG/LFC collaborates with Spirit of Shankly to lead the reform agenda ahead of/in conjunction with the national fan led review.
– We also expect a commitment by FSG that any costs incurred in relation to the creation of, or withdrawal from, the European Super League will be funded solely by the owners and not by the club itself. We note that the Kroenke family have already made this commitment to Arsenal fans.
These motions were acknowledged and received by the Club and they will take these away and respond formally to Spirit of Shankly with a further local meeting expected in the coming days.
The meeting was positive and both parties agreed there is a need for a new structure leading to meaningful and lasting supporter engagement.
